Recent Projects

A selection of recent work showing the kind of technically detailed problem-solving we deliver, while keeping client identity and sensitive site details private.

Environmental Monitoring & Heating Control Upgrade

Client type: Grade-listed historic house museum
Problem: Previous PC-based monitoring had failed, humidity levels needed to be controlled to protect collections, and the building had a complex legacy controls arrangement.
Solution: Independent wireless humidity monitoring network with per-room heating enable interlocks, fail-safe control logic, a maintenance-friendly dashboard, and trend graphs for review.
Result: Stable monitoring, room-by-room control, maintenance-friendly operation, no Wi-Fi dependency, and clear graphing for 24-hour, 7-day and 30-day review periods.
Scope extras:
  • Corrected circuit charts
  • Traced feeds from multiple consumer units
  • Replaced faulty ELV controls

Industrial Power Distribution & Installation Upgrade

Client type: Operating factory / industrial unit
Problem: The existing installation was around 50 years old and no longer suitable for a modern industrial environment. It included outdated asbestos-based fuse equipment, no MCB protection, ageing wiring, obsolete fluorescent lighting, and limited capacity for safe isolation, switching, machinery supplies and modern energy integration.
Solution: A phased replacement of the electrical installation while the site remained operational, including new containment, new wiring, new consumer units, updated isolation and switching arrangements, integration of the solar installation, new sub-unit metering, new connections for machinery and plant, connection of new electrically operated rooflights, replacement of outdated fluorescent fittings with energy-efficient LED lighting, a new CCTV installation, and up-to-date emergency lighting throughout.
Result: A safer, more maintainable and fully modernised installation with improved power distribution, clearer isolation, better resilience for day-to-day operations, reduced lighting energy use, improved site security, and infrastructure ready for ongoing industrial use and future expansion.
Scope extras:
  • Carried out as a phased upgrade to minimise disruption within a live working environment
  • Integrated solar generation into the wider electrical distribution strategy
  • Introduced sub-unit metering to improve visibility of energy usage and allocation

Need a system solving a real-world control, monitoring or reliability problem rather than just a basic install? We can design, fault-find, document and deliver a practical solution that is straightforward to maintain.
